Springfield Police Blotter for July 16-17, 2013. This is a sampling of police activity that occurred in Springfield during that time period, and not representative of all activity that occurred.

Tuesday, July 16
12:55 a.m. – A resident in the 1100 block of G St. reported he went out on his porch to smoke, and encountered a female subject on his porch, with whom he was unfamiliar. The subject told him she had just gotten out of the hospital, saying she was afraid of dogs and believed one of the poltergeists is a pit bull.
1:30 a.m. – A fight was reported near the Centennial Steak House in the 1300 block of Mohawk Blvd.
5:08 a.m. – Jeremy Smith, 26, was cited for driving while suspended at Pheasant Blvd. and Pinedale Ave.
6:39 a.m. – A resident in the 800 block of Kelly Blvd. reported a van was spray-painted with graffiti, and “FTP” was spray-painted on the sidewalk.
7:29 a.m. – A barefoot female subject wearing a long black skirt was walking in one of the lanes of traffic on Pioneer Parkway between Q St. and Hayden Bridge Rd. She was also reported to have a black sweater pulled over her head and appeared to be about 70 years old.
10:00 a.m. – A resident in the 800 block of Kelly Blvd. reported a vehicle spray-painted with the word “mob” on the side.
11:26 a.m. – A resident in the 1500 block of 1st St. reported her next-door neighbor came over and punched her in the face with her fist. A report was taken.
1:03 p.m. – A skinny male subject wearing an orange safety vest attempted to cash a fraudulent check for nearly $1,900 at Umpqua Bank in the 1300 block of Mohawk Blvd.
2:16 p.m. – Police contacted three subjects who were sleeping under a shelter at Island Park in the 200 block of W. B St.
2:50 p.m. – A female subject was yelling at people walking into City Hall. She was advised concerning her behavior.
3:17 p.m. – Scottie Toler Jr., 49, was cited for driving while suspended at 14th and Main Streets.
4:26 p.m. – Bryan McBride, 30, was arrested in the 5600 block of Daisy St. on a warrant for felon in possession of a restricted weapon.
7:27 p.m. – A caller reported a male subject stole “a bunch of items” from Safeway in the 5400 block of Main St. and almost hit some people as he was leaving. He took off in a white 1992 Honda Prelude.
8:23 p.m. – A resident in the Springfield Mobile Home Park in the 1200 block of Main St. reported two subjects were selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door.
11:33 p.m. – Police made contact with a woman in the area of 54th and Main Streets who was looking for her son, who was out past his curfew.

Wednesday, July 17
1:48 a.m. – The back window of a pickup truck parked in the 1200 block of 39th St. was broken out.
6:11 a.m. – A woman residing in a van parked at Wal-Mart in the 2600 block of Olympic St. reported her husband pushed her when she tried to go to sleep in the van. She said she was ten weeks pregnant and added that her husband had been drinking.
6:51 a.m. – Michael Cole, 41, was arrested at 28th and Main Streets on a warrant for contempt of court.
9:16 a.m. – An intoxicated male subject inside Walgreen’s in the 1200 block of Mohawk Blvd. asked employees to call Cahoots, but was told that agency only served Eugene. He was transported to Buckley House for detoxification.
11:04 a.m. – Tires of a vehicle parked in the 600 block of River Hills Dr. were reported to have been slashed.
11:34 a.m. – A female subject at Dari-Mart in the 3100 block of Gateway St. was yelling and ranting at passersby, particularly those who did not give her money.
12:18 p.m. – A caller reported a homeless female subject sitting on the sidewalk in front of Ben Franklin in the 1000 block of Harlow Rd. She had some drugs spread out on the sidewalk and was talking to herself while holding a pipe filled with marijuana. The subject left and walked towards Target.
1:27 p.m. – A caller in the 100 block of S. 35th St. reported a residence had a lot of foot traffic coming in and out at all hours, and the caller had seen about a dozen different bicycle frames, which the subjects of the residence were spray-painting.
3:05 p.m. – A brown and white pit bull was running at large in the 1300 block of C St.

4:50 p.m. – A caller reported a female subject was camping behind a location in the 1600 block of Main St.
5:52 p.m. – Jacob Bandy, 23, was arrested in the 4400 block of Daisy St. on multiple warrants.
7:59 p.m. – A resident in the 400 block of W. Quinalt St. reported a male subject took a wagon and a tarp from the neighbor’s yard. Police came out to the location and determined he was visiting the resident and that he had just moved the items to the side yard.
9:01 p.m. – Fawn Shulda, 31, was cited for driving while suspended in the 500 block of Main St.
11:10 p.m. – A resident in the 500 block of 70th St. called to report a neighbor was doing some remodeling work, using power tools with the windows open.
