At approximately 6:07 p.m., callers reported a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash at Goodpasture Island Road and Delta Highway. Contrary to initial reports of a vehicle in the water, the car stopped short of entering into water. The driver of that car, a silver 2002 Honda Civic, Maria Ventura Villademartinez, age 33, of Springfield was transported to the hospital and cited in lieu of custody for Reckless Endangering, Assault, and Reckless Driving. Her passenger, Ana Lilia Carlos, age 41, was also taken to the hospital. Villademartinez was southbound on Delta, near Goodpasture, behind a 2007 Chevy driven by Thomas Harold Murdoch, age 90. She moved into the fast lane, almost past Murdoch, but then moved back into his lane, pushing Murdoch’s vehicle into a guardrail. Villademartinez’s vehicle traveled an additional two hundred feet and catapulted over a guardrail and down an embankment, where it came to a resting point on its roof near the water. Thomas Harold Murdoch, age 90, of Springfield and his passenger, Beverlee Jean Gillis, age 75, of Eugene, were transported to the hospital. All injuries were non-life threatening.

the third subject. After numerous interviews with witness and the involved subjects, neither party wanted to press charges and the combat was declared mutual. Montgomery and Christmas were arrested for Disorderly conduct, and Nicholas Dexter Knight, age 21, was Cited in Lieu of Custody for a Misdemeanor charge of Interfering with a Police Officer, after he interfered with officers during the initial contact and investigation.
