Eugene Man Sentenced To Life in Deadly March 2023 Shooting
Eugene, Ore. - Elijah Michael Pruitt was convicted on Sept. 25th, 2023 of Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Pruitt was sentenced to life in prison plus two years.
Pruitt's "end of sentence date" is listed by the jail as: 03/17/2122. This is a measure 11 crime, Pruitt will not be eligible for early release, or good time credits. Court Case #: 23CR12761

Eugene, Ore. - At 12:28 a.m. on March 14, 2023 Eugene Police Patrol units responded to a report of a dispute with a shot fired at E. 13th Avenue and Patterson Street. Arriving units located two subjects with minor gunshot injuries, and one subject deceased in a crashed vehicle nearby.
March 17, 2023 - EPD's Violent Crimes Unit responded and is continuing to investigate this incident. There is no known continuing risk to the public.
Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit has arrested Elijah Michael Pruitt, age 20, of Eugene, on charges of Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
The deceased victim in this case is Fernando Allen Giffen-Vallejo, age 19, of Cottage Grove.
