SCU Interrupts Drug Deal Takes Local Drug Dealer into Custody

Eugene, Ore. - On August 29, Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit was conducting surveillance operations near 145 E. 18th Avenue when a suspected narcotics distributor, 31-year-old Ryan Reed Hagerman, parked his vehicle on the eastside lot of the property.

A short time later, a man, later identified as 39-year-old Mitchell Lee Seiders arrived on foot and met up with Hagerman at the back of Hagerman's vehicle. Surveillance identified the pair made a hand-to-hand exchange of suspected narcotics. SCU uniformed officers moved in to interdict the transaction around 6:40 p.m.

SCU applied for and was granted a search warrant for the vehicle as well as Hagerman's apartment. When the dust settled, it was determined Seiders had sold 43.0 grams of fentanyl to Hagerman for $1,200. Seiders had an additional 43.0 grams of Fentanyl on his person. Both Hagerman and Seiders possessed evidence of narcotics distribution such as scales, packaging material and pay-owe sheets.

Seiders was lodged at Lane County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, and Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Hager was subsequently cited and released for Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, and Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. Case 23-12865
