Former 'Home Improvement' Star Zachery Ty Bryan Arrested Again in Lane County
EUGENE, Ore. — Actor Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for playing Brad Taylor on the 1990s sitcom Home Improvement, was arrested late Saturday as was his girlfriend Johnnie Faye Cartwright following an alleged incident in Lane County.
Lane County Sheriff’s Deputies, on Nov. 29th, 2025, took both individuals into custody. Bryan, 44, was booked on a probation violation stemming from a 2023 felony assault conviction involving Cartwright in the same jurisdiction. He is being held without bail and has a scheduled release date of December 3rd.
Cartwright, 32, faces significantly more serious charges:
* Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII)
* Three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (due to their 3 children possibly being present in the vehicle)
* Attempted Assault in the First Degree (a Class A felony in Oregon, often charged when a person allegedly attempts to cause serious physical injury with a dangerous or deadly weapon, such as a vehicle)
Authorities have released specific details of the incident, according to KEZI the attempted assault in the first degree charge involved Bryan being the alleged victim. LCSO reports that Cartwright allegedly tried to run Bryan over, witnesses say the vehicle ended up against the bank in the ditch
Cartwright remains in custody and is expected to appear before a judge on Monday for an possible arraignment, and perhaps a bail or pretrial release determination.
Bryan has faced multiple domestic-violence related arrests in recent years, including the 2023 Lane County case in which he pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to 36 months of supervised probation.
