Double Fatal Crash - HWY 101 Douglas County

Douglas County, Ore. - On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at approximately 12:10 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy-101, near milepost 208, in Douglas County. The preliminary investigation indicated a southbound silver GMC Sonoma, operated by Raymond Louis Eby Jr. (35) of Molalla , crossed into the on-coming northbound lane for unknown reasons. The GMC Sonoma collided (offset) head-on with a northbound white Toyota Rav4, operated by Shawna Michelle Coolidge (51) of Florence . As a result of the collision, the GMC Sonoma rolled over and came to an uncontrolled rest on its roof blocking the northbound lane. The GMC Sonoma received heavy front-end damage. The Toyota Rav4 left the roadway after the collision and came to an uncontrolled rest down a small embankment adjacent to the northbound lanes. The Toyota Rav4 received heavy front-end damage.  The driver of the GMC Sonoma (Eby Jr.) and driver of the Toyota Rav4 (Coolidge) were declared deceased at the scene.

Man Arrested for Kidnap, Assault

Eugene, Ore. -At 10:15 p.m. on June 23, Central Lane 911 received a call from the public about a woman being assaulted by a man in a parking lot in the 800 block of Franklin Boulevard.  The caller was reporting the man left in a GMC Yukon with a young child inside. The woman had a restraining order against the man, identified as Mario Lynn Massey , age 35. He was also not allowed to be unsupervised with the child. Eugene Police officers responded and flooded the area but where not able to locate Massey and the vehicle.  They located the female victim and spent the better part of two hours checking neighbor hoods, parking lots, parks, and many other locations.  Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit was notified, and two detectives responded to assist EPD Patrol. The primary responding patrol officer authored an ‘attempt to locate’ for Massey and officers were continuing to search. The child was located at an apartment, where she had been dropped off by the suspect in the care of a friend. 

Suspect Apprehended After Fatal Vehicle Vs. Pedestrian Accident

Springfield, Ore. - On 06/25/2023 at 01:49 AM, 911 received a call regarding a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in the 3000 block of Main St. The vehicle had been traveling westbound on Main St, with the pedestrian skateboarding westbound in the bicycle lane. Woman Reports Occupied Burglary Incident, Man Arrested

 ​ Eugene, Ore. - At 3:34 a.m. on June 27, a woman living in an apartment in the 600 block of W. 4th Avenue called 911 after she saw someone on her surveillance cam trying her doorknob. Shortly after that, a female resident in another apartment called to report an unknown man inside her apartment. She reported she confronted the man, and he left on foot but was still in the complex. Eugene Police officers and a Lane County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit quickly arrived and the K9 tracked the man to another apartment. The K9 deputy and an EPD officer observed the suspect, identified as Aaron Allen Harney , age 33, inside. It was discovered that while he was inside that residence, Harney put on the resident’s clothing, which he was wearing when arrested. Items in the apartment were gone through and the apartment was in disarray. The apartment’s resident was not present during Harney’s entry. Deputies Recover and Identify Partial Human Remains

Blue River, Ore. - The Lane County Sheriff’s Office recovered partial human remains.  The remains have been identified as belonging to Shane Sprenger from Blue River.  This is still an active investigation and the Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with any information to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4150. Deputies Seeking Theft Suspects

Veneta, Ore. - Lane County Sheriff’s Deputies are attempting to identify three people believed to be associated with wire theft in the Veneta area earlier this month.   Click to enlarge  The depicted suspects are believed to be responsible for breaking into a commercial business in the 88000blk of Central Rd.   The suspects then cut and stole a large quantity of wire over the course of several days, causing upwards of several hundred thousands of dollars in damage. Eugene Police and Fire CAD Call Definitions

EPD and fire codes:  These are actually divided into two separate categories, but functionally both types do the same thing- close a call from the active call screen with an explanation of how it was handled.   The first category are Cancel Codes.  Usually they are used when no officer is dispatched, but sometimes they are used as appropriate after an officer has responded.   Code Definition AWO Animal Welfare Officer Log:  These are calls that need to be referred to the AWO’s for follow up. DDIS   Dispatcher Disregard:  These are calls that are disregarded by dispatch due to circumstances and policy, and a detail should be added to the call indicating who and why the call was disregarded. DIS   Disregard:  These are calls that no longer require a response because the complainant has requested a disregard. Fatal Crash - HWY 101 - Lane County

  Florence, Ore. - On Saturday, June 24, 2023, at approximately 10:11 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 101, near milepost 186, in Lane County. The preliminary investigation indicated a black Ford F-250, operated by Ravi Artemus Polini (24) of Fort Bragg (CA), was northbound on Hwy 101, near Sutton Lake Rd, when it left its lane of travel, crossed over a turn lane and left the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the Ford crossed Sutton Lake Rd. and T-boned a blue Chevy Bolt, operated by Logan Jacob Scott (31) of Florence, that was stopped at a stop sign.  The operator of the Chevy (Scott) was declared deceased at the scene. Willamette St. US Bank Robbed

UPDATE: 6/28/2023 - JASON JOSEPH ROBINSON's charges now show "no file". Meaning the DA will not files those charges in court. The FBI placed him on a federal hold. He’s being charged for Federal Bank robbery, therefore the state dropped its charge. Robinson is still in the Lane County Jail. Eugene, Ore. -  At 1:20 p.m., June 26, Eugene Police received a dispatch to a robbery at US Bank, 800 Willamette. EPD responded and found the suspect had left and gone westbound toward the downtown area. EPD Drone Team also responded. At 2:05 p.m., officers spotted a person matching the suspect’s description south of 7 th   Avenue and Madison.  According to jail records, the suspect is  JASON JOSEPH ROBINSON He was detained and taken into custody around 2:08 p.m. Case 23-09301 (Information from EPD) Sponsored by:  Preston’s Painting LLC  

Homicide in Mapleton

Mapleton, Ore. - Today the Lane County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible homicide in the 9400 block of Hwy 126W.  ***UPDATE: Marsha Quesnell's case for murder is now pending due to fitness to proceed. In other words, the court has deemed her unable to help in her own defense due to mental illness or defect, at this time.*** The caller, Marsha Quesnell advised she had killed her mother Mona Tittle. When deputies arrived Marsha cooperated and was taken into custody without incident. Mona was located by deputies deceased inside the residence. Marsha Doreen Quesnell - 2020 mugshot Marsha was lodged at Lane County Adult Corrections this afternoon on the charge of murder.
