Man Convicted of the Brutal 2023 711 Murder Sentenced to Life


UPDATE: Today, 4/5/2024, Jaisi Tavin Savath was sentenced to life in the custody of the Oregon State Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole for 25 years. On April 4, he was found guilty at the conclusion of a jury trial of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.


Eugene, Or. - The jury has found JAISI TAVIN SAVATH guilty of murder in the 2023 brutal shooting death of Stephen Anthony Forrest, age 32, of Eugene.

Forrest was an employee of the 711 at 590 E. Broadway, in Eugene, when Savath shot and brutally murdered Forrest. Savath, then left the scene of the crime. Savath turned himself in 4 days later on 9/6/23. Original story here.

Savath was also found guilty of felony unlawful use of a firearm.

Savath has already plead guilty to the lessor charge of misdemeanor Unlawful Possession of a Firearm on April 1st, 2024.

Sentencing will be held tomorrow at 9:30am. Savath is looking at a minimum sentence of 25 year under measure 11.

Savath will have to serve each and every day of his sentence minus any time spent in county lockup.
