Eugene Police Arrest Seven in Burglary Spree Targeting Asian Community
EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police Department (EPD) arrested seven suspects linked to a daytime burglary on October 6 at a Bethel-area home owned by Asian community members, who were working at their business during the crime (Case 25-16245). The investigation, targeting a suspected group of foreign nationals involved in similar crimes, led to a breakthrough using Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology.
Security footage captured a suspect posing as a pizza delivery driver before cameras malfunctioned. Detectives traced the suspect’s vehicle through ALPR, confirming its presence near the crime scene. On October 8, the vehicle was spotted in south Eugene, and by October 9, EPD tracked it and two others to Corvallis, Salem, and Keizer, where a related burglary occurred in west Salem. EPD collaborated with Salem Police to advance the investigation.
A search warrant was executed by EPD SWAT on October 9 at a residence in the 2400 block of Skyline Boulevard. Seven suspects fled but were apprehended, prompting a shelter-in-place alert. ALPR data confirmed the suspects’ vehicles traveled together through multiple states before reaching Oregon.
“This investigation shows how ALPR technology can be a critical tool in solving crimes and serving victims,” said Chief Chris Skinner, noting the focus on burglaries targeting Asian business owners.
In a statement to Lane County Mugshots Jenny Johnak had this to say: "The Asian American Council of Oregon is grateful for the hard work that led to the arrest of seven suspects connected to recent burglaries targeting Asian Americans. This is a critical step toward accountability and justice.
We understand that investigators believe these crimes to be part of an organized, international crime ring. Preventing future incidents will require continued coordination among law enforcement agencies and sustained commitment from our leaders.
We urge law enforcement, prosecutors and elected officials to make this matter a priority so that our Asian American neighbors can feel safe in their homes and workplaces. We stand united in condemning any crimes that target individuals or families on the basis of race."
Arrested for first-degree burglary and conspiracy were Steven Alexander Quirogasolano, 27; Robinson Camacho Rodriguez, 31; William Steven Rodriguez, 26; Denison Martinez, 24; Jesson Quintero, 27; Jhon Alexander Quintero, 44; and Jhon Quintero, 24. All were lodged at Lane County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, with additional charges possible.
