Oregon Man Faces Serious Sex Trafficking, Rape, and Sodomy Charges in Lane County

Eugene, Ore. — A 34-year-old man named Colten Roan Watson was transported from Arizona and booked into the Lane County Jail on multiple felony charges, including human trafficking, promoting and compelling prostitution, first-degree rape, and first-degree sodomy.
The charges filed in Lane County Circuit Court under case number 26CR17990 are:
  • Trafficking in Persons (ORS 163.266) – Felony
  • Prostitution-Promoting (ORS 167.012) – Felony
  • Rape in the First Degree (ORS 163.375) – Felony, Measure 11
  • Sodomy in the First Degree (ORS 163.405) – Felony, Measure 11
  • Prostitution-Compelling (ORS 167.017) – Felony, Measure 11
  • Burglary in the First Degree (ORS 164.225) – Felony
  • Robbery in the Third Degree (ORS 164.395) – Felony
  • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (ORS 164.135) – Felony
Oregon’s Measure 11 laws mandate minimum prison sentences for several of these offenses, meaning those convicted must serve the full term without eligibility for early release, good time credits, or parole reductions (though time already spent in custody is credited). HB 3511, known as Jessica’s Law in Oregon, can further increase penalties in cases involving victims under the age of 12, potentially requiring a minimum of 25 years.
No public court documents are available yet for the case, which appears to stem from a secret indictment. Authorities have not released details about the alleged victims or specific circumstances. Eugene Police were contacted for additional information, but this may not be their case as no agency was listed.
Watson was previously arrested by Idaho State Police on October 15, 2025, in Ada County, Idaho, on misdemeanor charges including possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting or obstructing officers. His mugshot from that arrest is the feature picture here.
As with all criminal defendants, Watson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
