UO Alert: Five Sexual Assaults Reported Near Campus; One Arrest Made

EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon is investigating reports of five sexual assaults that occurred on or near campus in the past week, according to a campus crime warning issued Wednesday.

Four of the incidents involved university students. The fifth took place near Alton Baker Dog Park, adjacent to university property, and an arrest has been made in that case. University officials said the assaults are not believed to be related, though several alleged perpetrators may have taken advantage of victims who were intoxicated at social events.

Details of the assaults are being withheld while police investigations continue by the University of Oregon Police Department and the Eugene Police Department. All affected students have been offered university support resources.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigations is asked to contact UOPD at 541-346-2919. Tips can be kept confidential. Updates will be posted at alerts.uoregon.edu.
