Springfield Police Blotter for May 18, 2013. This is a sampling of police activity that occurred in Springfield during that time period, and not representative of all activity that occurred.

Saturday, May 18
1:14 a.m. – Two female subjects, suspected to be intoxicated, beat up on a pickup truck, wrecked a BBQ and ripped up a rosebush at a residence in the 600 block of 10th St.
3:07 a.m. – A caller in the 500 block of Harlow Rd. reported hearing sounds consisted with an attempted vehicle break-in. The caller refused to look outside, and told the 9-1-1 dispatcher, “You people just need to do your job.”
4:46 a.m. – A resident in the 2000 block of L St. reported a male subject threw something at her second-story window. She said the subject had been texting and calling her all day and had asked him not to. She said she had over 1,000 messages from the subject. Police contacted the subject in his vehicle seven minutes later and advised him of his behavior. He locked up the vehicle and walked away, as he also has a suspended license.
12:09 p.m. – A green 1999 Chevy Suburban was repossessed from the parking lot of Wal-Mart in the 2600 block of Olympic St.
1:43 p.m. – Mark Blaska, 42, was arrested in the 00 block of E St. on a warrant for possession of heroin. He asked police to take his bicycle to a residence on 4th St, and police obliged his request.
2:03 p.m. – Michael Bennett, 21, was cited for driving while suspended at Franklin Blvd. and Henderson Ave.
3:16 p.m. – A male subject was reportedly threatening associates of the Tire/Lube area of Wal-Mart in the 2600 block of Olympic St. The caller said she wanted to give police a threatening letter the subject left there, and wanted to press trespassing charges.
3:18 p.m. – The action continues at Wal-Mart, as Randyll Scaife Jr., 33, was cited for driving while suspended and Albert Clark Jr., 55, was arrested on a Douglas County warrant for contempt of court.
3:37 p.m. – The manager of the Red Bird Trailer Park in the 700 block of 28th St. reported a male and female screaming at each other, and said this was an ongoing issue between the pair. The manager said the male and female are in the process of getting evicted from the park.
7:03 p.m. – A caller reported a male subject going into the Rainbow Village Apartments in the 1200 block of Rainbow Dr. and emptying bags of trash and bucket seats into one of the dumpsters, the leaving.
8:13 p.m. – A male subject told a gas attendant at Fred Meyer he was stoned. The subject then drove erratically around the parking lot and then towards the food entrance of the store. The driver of the white, two-door Saturn was described as a white male in his 40s, medium build and had salt and pepper hair.

8:27 p.m. – A woman knocked on the door of a residence in the 600 block of J St. trying to sell DVDs. The caller asked her what company she worked for, and the woman refused to answer. She also told the caller she only takes cash.
10:16 p.m. – Steven Sprague, 39, was arrested on a charge of DUII at Gateway St. and Gateway Loop.
