Eugene Police and Fire CAD Call Definitions

EPD and fire codes:

These are actually divided into two separate categories, but functionally both types do the same thing- close a call from the active call screen with an explanation of how it was handled.

The first category are Cancel Codes.  Usually they are used when no officer is dispatched, but sometimes they are used as appropriate after an officer has responded.

Code

Definition

AWO

Animal Welfare Officer Log: These are calls that need to be referred to the AWO’s for follow up.

DDIS

Dispatcher Disregard: These are calls that are disregarded by dispatch due to circumstances and policy, and a detail should be added to the call indicating who and why the call was disregarded.

DIS

Disregard: These are calls that no longer require a response because the complainant has requested a disregard.

DUP

Duplicate Call: When two or more calls are received for the same incident, the DUP disposition will be added to the extra call (s) and the incidents will be linked.

FIX

Fix it Ticket: This code would be used when a fix-it ticket call has been handled without someone being dispatched on the call. For example, a CSO comes up on station one and says that they handled the fix-it ticket call holding at the front counter.

INFO

Information Only: This means the call was entered for information only. No units will be dispatched on the call.

PCO

Parking Control Officer: This places the call on the parking control log to be relayed to a parking control officer.

PDIS

Police Disregard: This is when a field supervisor disregards a call (e.g., Sgt, Lt), and a detail should be added to the call indicating who and why the call was disregarded.

PRI

Priority Log: These are calls that are being placed on the priority log. It usually involves a stolen license plate (s) after it was broadcast by station 1.

PW

Public Works: These are calls that need to be placed on the Public Works Log for them to follow up on (e.g., traffic hazard).

REL

Relayed: This is used when the call has been relayed to another agency, and EPD will not be responding (e.g., ODOT, PW).

RSLV

Resolved:  This code is used when the call is resolved before units can be dispatched on it.

UTD

Unable to Dispatch: This was when a call was entered into the system that does not meet dispatch criteria. A note should be entered into the call indicating who and why the call was disregarded.

WCB

Will Call Back: This should be used when the complainant is no longer available for contact and is going to call back at a later time.

The second type are called disposition codes, and they are always associated to an individual officer AND call.  The dispositions in black require a report number to be issued before they can be used.  If the service listed is COMBO, it is a disposition that is shared by both EPD and various fire agencies:
