SCU gained information Stephen Allan Laszlo, age 41, a felon, was in possession of several firearms, fencing stolen property and dealing narcotics. Laszlo was using funds to finance a make-shift pawn shop and supplying narcotics as well buying property brought to him from various people. The location where he was living is a small, 15-unit low-income housing development for people with children to live in a safe and friendly environment. Laszlo has lived at the location for well over a year and has no children living with him. This was not the fault of the apartment management, but Laszlo taking advantage of a system meant to help people in need.

During the execution of the search warrant, Laszlo jumped from his second-story window onto a covered porch, but in doing so injured his ankle. Waiting below was a contingency of SWAT personnel and an EPD K9. Laszlo was subsequently taken into custody, evaluated for his injury, and released to be housed at Lane County Jail.
