Registered Sex Offender Booked in Lane County on Child Sex Crime Charges and Violations






Eugene, Ore. –  A 34-year-old registered sex offender, Cody Dare Wiley, was booked into the Lane County Jail on January 15, 2026, facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including serious allegations related to child sexual offenses.


Wiley faces charges in case 25CR49794 for Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree (ORS 163.411) and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (ORS 163.427), both felonies classified under Oregon's Measure 11. These charges stem from an ongoing court case that has not yet gone to trial; a 12-person jury trial is scheduled for July 14, 2026.

If convicted of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree involving a child under the age of 12, Wiley could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years under the provisions of HB 3511, commonly referred to as "Jessica's Law for Oregon," which enhances penalties for certain severe crimes against young children.

Additional charges against Wiley include:

  • Violation of a Restraining Order (ORS 133.310), a misdemeanor (case 26CN00220)
  • Failure to Report as a Sex Offender (ORS 163A.040(3)(B)), a felony (no file)
  • Failure to Report as a Sex Offender (ORS 163A.040(3)(A)), a misdemeanor (case 26CR02887)
Wiley remains in custody at the Lane County Jail. He has a court hearing scheduled today regarding his alleged failure to comply with pretrial services release conditions.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
