Eugene, Ore. — Joshua Aaron Roshone, who survived a double shooting in Madras in 2019, was arrested Tuesday on multiple felony charges involving identity theft, forgery, and fraudulent use of a credit card.
According to Eugene Police Department reports, Roshone, 42, was taken into custody on June 9, 2026, following a traffic stop by the EPD Street Crimes Unit near W. 7th Avenue and Blair Boulevard. Officers recognized him from an active “attempt to locate” bulletin issued earlier in the investigation.

He and another man were shot multiple times at a residence near SE 16th and C Streets. Both victims were transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment of life-threatening injuries.Law enforcement agencies, including the Madras Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Oregon State Police, arrested 36-year-old Juan Francisco Hernandez-Medina in connection with the shooting. He faced two counts each of attempted aggravated murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. Roshone’s recovery from multiple gunshot wounds was widely regarded as a story of resilience.Current Case StatusRoshone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. He remains in custody at the Lane County Jail. Further details about the total financial loss, any additional victims, or Roshone’s criminal history have not yet been released by authorities. This remains an active case. The Lane County District Attorney’s Office is expected to file formal charges in the coming days.
