Of the 106 inmates, 19 were convicted of a crime and did not complete their sentence, but nonetheless are considered to have done so. The remaining 87 are pre-trial defendants. One offender who was sentenced to a 30-day jail sentence for third-degree rape, which is a Class C felony, was released in two days. Another offender was sentenced to jail for 12 counts of identity theft on Feb. 13, and was released the same day. That sentence was initially supposed to keep that offender behind bars until Mar. 30.
In the 24-hour period ending at 8:45 a.m., Feb. 21, 22 inmates were released early, including nine who were sentenced and are considered to have met their full legal obligations upon release. Among this group of nine are Brian J. Vinson, 29, who was released in under 24 hours after being sentenced to 60 days for DUII, resisting arrest and felony fourth-degree assault. Spencer H. Christie, 22, was sentenced Feb. 20 to 20 days for delivery of heroin and 10 days for possession of heroin, and released the same day.
