Springfield Police Blotter for Feb. 22-23, 2013. This is a sampling of police activity that occurred in Springfield during that time period, and not representative of all activity that occurred.

Friday, Feb. 22
1:19 a.m. – A woman described as being in her mid to late-50s attempted to purchase alcohol at WinCo in the 1900 block of Olympic St. The employee refused to sell her alcohol due to appearing intoxicated, and the subject took off in a white Dodge Durango. Police could not locate the subject, who was further described as wearing a baseball cap with blonde hair under it.
1:24 a.m. – James Alameda, 55, was arrested on a charge of DUII at I-105 and Mohawk Blvd.
2:32 a.m. – A male subject was reported to be lying unconscious on the ground outside Sweet Illusions in the 1800 block of S. A St. There was reported to be a fight outside, and the subject became semi-conscious a few minutes later. No one was willing to be a victim in the incident, and a taxi transported three male subjects to the Courtesy Inn on W. 6thAve. in Eugene.

3:02 a.m. – Symmone Ditmar, 23, was arrested at Market St. and Centennial Blvd. on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine, and received another charge of possession of methamphetamine. Danny Thompson 47, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
4:04 a.m. – A resident of an apartment building in the 100 block of 17th St. reported a strong smell of brake cleaner, which seemed to be coming in through the ceiling. The caller suspected the new neighbor upstairs may have been manufacturing methamphetamine. Police contacted the 58-year-old male subject who lives upstairs, and he was cleaning the paint in the tub with acetone, as the previous occupant of his apartment had spray-painted something in the tub.
8:04 a.m. – Syringes were found next to the curb in front of a house in the 2000 block of L St. The address was in very close proximity to a residence police identified as a drug house on Feb. 6. A waste products disposal company was notified, and disposed of the syringes.
9:35 a.m. – An owner of a rental property in the 100 block of S. 71st St. reported the house had been broken into. An air compressor, a hose, a radio and a battery charger were taken. The owner suspected a 52-year-old male subject may have been involved, and found a malt liquor container left there, which had been purchased at a nearby convenience store. A report was taken.
2:23 p.m. – A woman went into Best Buy in the 3300 block of Gateway St., and stole two laptops. Video surveillance identified a 40-year-old female subject, and a report was taken.
4:10 p.m. – A resident of an apartment complex in the 100 block of 16th St. reported a neighbor placed dog feces on the doorstep. The caller had video surveillance of the incident, and the feces were still on the porch. A 51-year-old female subject was identified.
5:08 p.m. – Two callers reported seeing a pregnant black lab running in traffic on 42nd St.
8:50 p.m. – A female subject was seen in the laundry room of an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Main St. She had several bags and belongings strewn about the room. Police advised the female subject to move on, and she complied.
10:51 p.m. – A resident in the 2300 block of 10th St. reported someone banged in her door, but did not see anyone outside. Another neighbor saw juveniles knocking on doors and running off.
11:23 p.m. – Mark Hiatt, 50, was cited for driving while suspended in the 1300 block of Modoc St.

Saturday, Feb. 23
12:19 a.m. – A resident in the 200 block of 57th St. called to complain about a neighbor making “mechanic-ing” sounds. The resident yelled at them, and feels the loud neighbor had fair warning.
12:28 a.m. – An employee of Sharky’s in the 4200 block of Main St. refused service to a 21-year-old male subject who was already intoxicated. The subject attempted to start a fight with the caller. The subject loitered outside after being escorted by the caller. The subject has been trespassed from the location, and had someone on their way to the location to pick him up.
12:44 a.m. – The 21-year-old subject went back inside Sharky’s (from the incident listed above) and the caller was willing to press charges for trespass. Just as officer’s arrived, the subject’s mother also did. The caller was satisfied with the subject leaving, and did not press charges.
1:28 a.m. – An employee of Club 1444 reported a bouncer was forcing the girls to solicit the customers there. The caller refused to do so, and the bouncer yelled at her, and she left the club to call police. She added the bouncer was making deals with the customers.
1:47 a.m. – A male subject punched a vehicle near 41st and Main Streets, then yelled “****ing kill me!” Police responded to a 26-year-old male subject at Sharky’s in the 4200 block of Main St., and the subject told police he had a ride coming to get him.
2:29 a.m. – Blanca Cordova-Cebantes, 53, was arrested for DUII in the 1900 block of J St. She posted bail and was released to her family.
7:26 a.m. – A female was reported to be acting strangely inside the Dari-Mart in the 400 block of Harlow Rd. A caller from the Zoomie’s espresso drive-thru reported the female subject was out in the parking lot, then went back inside the store. Police contacted an 18-year-old female subject, cited her for minor in possession, and a sober adult took her home.

7:42 a.m. – An intoxicated male subject was reported to have gone inside a residence in the 6700 block of Aster St. and fought with the residents there. He then went to a neighboring home and pushed his way inside, hitting a man who lived there. Another caller reported the male subject entered her residence, stole a kitchen knife and went to another residence. She reported the subject tried to stab her husband. Police arrested Kenneth Hickman, 52, a few minutes later.
11:18 a.m. – A male subject was refusing to leave a tax preparation business in the 400 block of A St., and grabbed another tax preparer’s body. The subject refused to leave. Police spoke to a 66-year-old male subject, who was trespassed from the location for the day.
12:52 p.m. – Derek Tifee, 47, was arrested at Springfield Police Department on warrants for possession of methamphetamine and driving while suspended.
1:17 p.m. – Two male juveniles were observed stealing electric scooters from Fred Meyer in the 600 block of Q St. They had last been seen going south on 5th St. An area check was conducted about 30 minutes after the incident, and the juveniles were not located.

3:14 p.m. – An employee of O’Reilly Auto Parts in the 4100 block of Main St. reported a male subject had stolen a Baja Light from the location, then took off towards Sharky’s on the other side of 42nd St. The subject was described as white, 6’0” with a medium build, blonde hair and wearing a yellow or mustard-colored jacket with a blue hoodie underneath, and tan pants.
3:56 p.m. – A man reported his girlfriend would not let him leave her residence, and then was being chased by her in the 5600 block of A St. He went into a nearby bar, and told police his girlfriend bit his leg. He also said the girlfriend threatened to accuse him of abuse if he returned to the residence. He waited at the bar for police as he wanted to retrieve his belongings from his girlfriend’s residence. Police also contacted the girlfriend, who said the boyfriend had grabbed her by her hair. Both subjects were advised, and declined medical attention.
5:39 p.m. – Two male juveniles were reported to be riding motorized scooters up and down 51st St.
7:45 p.m. – An employee of Best Buy in the 3300 block of Gateway St. reported a female subject had stolen merchandise from the store and ran off when approached by the employee. The subject told the employee her name was “Katie Ritchie”, and the employee believed it was a false name. The subject walked southbound towards Gateway St. and was described as being a white female in her 20s, thin build, brown hair and was wearing a white hoodie.
8:48 p.m. – A male subject wearing all black was reported to be pacing back and forth at the intersection of 10th and V Streets. The subject told the caller he works for a vacuum company and was waiting for his boss to pick him up.
9:03 p.m. – Arturo Villa-Valdez, , 34, was arrested for DUII at 21st and G Streets.
11:57 p.m. Several vehicles were reported to have been broken into in the parking lot of Dairy Queen in the 4700 block of Main St.
