Fire Crews Extinguish Trus Joist Press Fire




Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire was on scene of an industrial fire at Weyerhaeuser Trus Joist located at 195N Bertelsen Rd in West Eugene.

Firefighters were alerted to the fire at 7:08 PM on Sunday. The first arriving engine from the Danebo Station received reports of  press19 on fire inside the facility. Crews quickly extinguished the fire before it extended to the building or other equipment. Staff from the facility worked to keep the fire in check before fire crews arrived.

The fire is under control and there were no injuries reported.

Suspect Charged with Murder in 590 E. Broadway Shooting

Eugene, Ore. - At 2:39 a.m. September 2, Eugene Police responded to a report of a shooting at 590 E. Broadway. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and the suspect left the location in a vehicle and is no longer in the area. Homicide in Mapleton

Mapleton, Ore. - Today the Lane County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible homicide in the 9400 block of Hwy 126W.  ***UPDATE: Marsha Quesnell's case for murder is now pending due to fitness to proceed. In other words, the court has deemed her unable to help in her own defense due to mental illness or defect, at this time.*** The caller, Marsha Quesnell advised she had killed her mother Mona Tittle. When deputies arrived Marsha cooperated and was taken into custody without incident. Mona was located by deputies deceased inside the residence.
