Multi-State Burglary Ring Busted

UPDATE – Multi-State burglary ring - Feb. 12, 2025

Significant Eugene Police resources have been dedicated to finding and arresting members of a multi-state crime ring since EPD’s June 2024 arrests of three individuals. Efforts of the many Oregon and surrounding state agencies that have been working together to find and apprehend the crime rings have paid off with arrests.

Over the past week multiple search warrants were served in Bend, Oregon City, and Portland.  Multiple suspects were arrested thanks to great work from multiple jurisdictions in the Willamette Valley such as Tigard Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office,  Oregon City Police Department, and the Eugene Police Department. This investigation also included law enforcement agencies in Washington State and Idaho. Stolen property has been matched to burglaries in Boise and more victims are continuing to confirm stolen property.

The multi-state crime ring was targeting wealthy individuals of Asian descent, to include business owners, doctors, and others. Similar crimes to those in June 2024, had continued in fall 2024. The suspects were especially surveilling and targeting those homeowners who were more likely to keep cash, jewelry, and high-end handbags at home.

BREAKING UPDATE: 07/04/2024 - The DA has charged 2 of the suspects with Attempt to Commit a Class A Felony ORS 161.405(2)(b) Felony Class B and Burglary in the First Degree 164.225 Felony Class A.
The third suspect still is only charged with Attempt to Commit a Class A Felony ORS 161.405(2)(b) Felony Class B.

BREAKING UPDATE: 06/24/2024 05:06PM - The DA has charged 3 of the suspects with Attempt to Commit a Class A Felony ORS 161.405(2)(b) Felony Class B.
The other 3 suspects have been released with their charges still showing "no file".

BREAKING UPDATE: 06/24/2024 1:20pm - The DA has "no file" on all charges for all 6 suspects. Although these suspect's charges are all "no file", they all still remain in jail at this time.

Eugene, Or. - On June 23, the Eugene Police Department Property Crimes Unit conducted simultaneous arrests of burglary suspects at three different locations in Eugene.

North Delta Hwy./Ayres Road, Franklin Boulevard/Agate Street, and the 700 block of E. 15th Avenue.

Six individuals were arrested**, who are all suspected of being involved in a multi-state residential burglary ring that targets wealthy individuals of Asian descent, to include business owners, doctors, and others.

Initial suspect contact at residences was usually made by a female suspect who would casually knock on the front door. The burglary suspects would often try to blend in by wearing construction vests, Amazon delivery vests, scrubs, etc.

If you feel like you may have had contact, are a victim, or have further information, please contact Detective Lollar – Jlollar@eugene-or.gov.
