Eugene Woman Sentenced to Just Over Four Years in $560K Embezzlement
The theft was first reported in September 2024 when Homes for Good, a nonprofit providing housing assistance to low-income residents, discovered financial inconsistencies linked to Wilcox, an HR and payroll specialist whose primary role was managing payroll. Initially, the organization estimated losses at over $125,000. However, after months of investigation by the Eugene Police Financial Crimes Unit, which reviewed thousands of pages of bank statements with assistance from Homes for Good, the total loss was determined to be approximately $560,000.
Initially, Wilcox faced 137 charges when booked into jail, but, according to court records, the DA filed 20 charges against Wilcox: three counts of Felony Aggravated Theft in the First Degree and 17 counts of Misdemeanor Computer Crime. She was interviewed by detectives, arrested, and booked into jail on May 14. Wilcox was released from jail on a Pre-Trial Services Release the day before her conviction.
On November 5, 2025, after a plea deal, Wilcox was convicted of six counts of Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, a felony. She was also sentenced the same day to just over 4 years in prison. Wilcox is presently in jail again as of today.The case, identified as Lane County Circuit Court case 25CR27237.
