Domestic Call Leads to Arrest




Eugene, Or. - On Feb. 7th, police were called to a domestic issue, the suspect, Larry Frank Cardiel, age 63, was reported to have locked himself inside a garage but was trying to get back inside the house.

Cardiel was reported to have been intoxicated and threatened family members with a knife. The son got him to back off and Cardiel retreated to the garage. 

When officers got to the house, Cardiel opened the garage door and was slow to respond but did eventually comply and was taken into custody. He was in possession of a spring-assisted knife, which as a convicted felon on probation he is not allowed to possess. 

He was transported to Lane County Jail and lodged on Menacing APA, Unlawful Use Weapon, and Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon. EPD case 24-01882
