Man Arrested For DUII After Hit And Run Crash



Eugene, Or. - At 1:04 a.m. on February 15, Eugene Police officers responded to a hit and run incident at W. 6th Avenue and Charnelton Street. 

The suspect drove off eastbound on the train tracks near E. 5th Avenue and High Street. The area was quickly flooded with officers looking for the truck. Multiple other callers reported the truck had gone through stop signs and had been driving erratically prior to the crash.

While an officer was speaking with the victim of the hit and run, the suspect drove through the intersection past them. Eugene Police officers attempted a traffic stop near the old EWEB building. However, the driver, later identified as Dylan Matthew Hoffman, age 22, of Eugene, continued onto Ferry St Bridge. 

An officer was able to maneuver his patrol vehicle into a position to get Hoffman stopped.. Hoffman was safely taken into custody.

During an investigation, officers suspected Hoffman was intoxicated and conducted further investigation. He was transported to Lane County Jail and lodged on charges of Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and DUII.
