Eugene Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting, One Suspect Still at Large



EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred around 5:06 a.m. on September 3 near E. 30th Avenue and Spring Boulevard, prompting road closures and a significant law enforcement response. Authorities have advised the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

According to the Eugene Police Department (EPD), one person was injured in the incident and transported to a local hospital. The condition of the victim has not been disclosed. EPD, in collaboration with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, has deployed drones and K9 units to search for a second individual involved in the incident, who remains at large.
Police have conducted an extensive area search and canvassed the neighborhood. EPD stated that the incident appears to be an isolated event between two individuals, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. However, E. 30th Avenue will remain closed for the next couple of hours as officers continue their investigation.
Residents are urged to avoid the area and follow updates from EPD for further information. The investigation is ongoing, and police presence will remain in the area to ensure safety and gather additional evidence.
