Shots Fired Call Near Valley River - ARREST MADE

Eugene, Or. - Since February 12, when this incident occurred, Eugene Police detectives have been working on identifying and locating the person responsible for shooting at the 4-Runner in the Valley River Center Parking lot.

During the evening hours of  February 14, detectives, with the assistance of Eugene Police SWAT team, served a search warrant on the residence of Henry Cooper, a 20-year-old Eugene resident. During the service of the search warrant Cooper was arrested and later lodged in jail for the following charges:

1. Attempted Assault in the First Degree

2. Unlawful Use of a Weapon

3. Reckless Endangering (three counts)

The investigation revealed there had been a verbal exchange between the people in the 4-Runner and Cooper that led to the shooting.  There is not any reason to believe an ongoing threat to the community exists based on this incident.

Following the shooting, several tips came in from the public, we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their efforts in keeping the community safe.
