Firefighters Respond to Three Small Fires in Glenwood




Springfield, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire responded to three small fires along the railroad tracks in Glenwood. 

Firefighters were called to the railroad tracks under Glenwood Blvd at 12:31 PM on Sunday June 30th.  Crews arrived to find three rubbish fires along the tracks with the largest at .10 acre and spreading up hill.  

Firefighters had to request the railroad and Glenwood Blvd be shut down for the safety of operations.

Crews stretched hundreds of feet of hose to access the fire. In all, 2 engines, a brush truck, a water tender, 2 battalion chiefs and 1 deputy fire marshal responded for a total of 15 personnel.  

The cause is under investigation.
