Firefighters Tackle Two Fires in Eugene Friday


Eugene, Or -. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to two fires within about 30 minutes Friday afternoon.  At 1:12 PM on June 28th, firefighters were called to a structure fire at Edgewood Home Furnishings located at 155 Division Ave in North Eugene. 

Firefighters arrived to find an exterior corner of the building on fire.  The fire was contained to the area of origin.  Witnesses reported the fire may have been set intentionally.  ESF Fire Marshals are investigating.

At 1:47 PM firefighters were called to a grass fire at 384 Wallis St in West Eugene.  Arriving crews found a fast moving fire in the grass.  In all about .15 of an acre was burned thanks to a quick response and deployment from Station 8. The cause is under investigation.
