Wrong Way Driver Causes Crash


Springfield, Or. - On Sunday, June 9th at 11:45pm both Eugene and Springfield Police departments began to receive calls reporting a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of highway 126 in Eugene. Officers from both agencies responded but were unable to locate and stop the vehicle before it collided with another vehicle. 

The crash occurred just west of the Pioneer Parkway overpass in Springfield. The driver and single occupant of the vehicle that was struck were transported to Riverbend hospital for treatment of possible life-threatening injuries. \

The driver and passenger of the vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes were not seriously injured and are cooperating with the investigation.
