Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure Near Amazon Park
EUGENE, Ore. – A registered sex offender was arrested after a Eugene Police officer saw him exposing himself near Amazon Park on the evening of February 22.
According to police, the officer was responding to an unrelated call around 5:54 p.m. when he noticed a man exposing himself in front of the park at 2785 Hilyard Street. The officer turned around and confronted the suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Hobson Matthew Mason.
Authorities later learned Mason had been the subject of multiple public complaints starting at 3:59 p.m. that day. An investigation revealed that he was on post-prison supervision for felony Indecent Exposure.
Mason was taken into custody and transported to Lane County Jail on charges of Indecent Exposure and Failure to Report as a Sex Offender.
