Son Arrested for Murder in Fatal Shooting of Elderly Parents



MOHAWK VALLEY, OR – A tragic incident unfolded in Lane County as authorities arrested a man accused of fatally shooting his elderly parents.

Lane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence on McGowan Creek Road shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Feb. 23rd, 2025, after receiving a report of possible deceased individuals at the location. Upon arrival, emergency personnel confirmed that two adults had died from apparent gunshot wounds.


The victims have been identified as 89-year-old Paul Allan Turner and 84-year-old Beverly Jean Turner. Their son, 59-year-old Christopher Allan Turner, was found at the scene and detained. Investigators later determined that probable cause existed to charge him with the murders.

Turner was taken into custody and is facing two counts of first-degree murder. Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the community.
