Authorities Raid Illegal THC Lab and Residences in Eugene and Troutdale

EUGENE, Ore. – A months-long investigation into illegal marijuana and THC manufacturing operations culminated in multiple search warrants executed by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office on March 26. Deputies, along with assisting agencies, served warrants at four locations:

  • A residence in the 2000 block of Musket Street, Eugene

  • A residence in the 1600 block of Taney Street, Eugene

  • A warehouse near W. 11th and Arrowsmith Street, Eugene

  • A residence in the 800 block of SW Grant Way, Troutdale

Investigators determined that the warehouse housed an unlicensed THC extraction lab, which was manufacturing and illegally distributing products out of state. These types of facilities pose significant safety risks, as THC extraction labs have been known to cause deadly explosions due to highly flammable chemicals used in the process. During the raid, deputies found large containers of flammable and acidic liquids, some of which had been spilled. The lab was shut down and made inoperable to prevent further risk.

During the service of the search warrants, detectives located and seized a significant quantity of illegal substances, including:

  • 2,725 pounds of THC extract

  • ½ pound of amphetamine

  • 50 pounds of psilocybin

  • 10 pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana

As a result of the investigation, authorities arrested Vu Hong Nguyen, 45, of Troutdale, and Arthur Scott Ingersoll, 64, of Eugene. Both were issued criminal citations in lieu of custody on charges of Unlawful Manufacture of a Cannabinoid/Marijuana Item and Criminal Conspiracy. Additional charges may follow as detectives continue testing the seized substances and gathering further evidence.

City of Eugene Code Compliance has been notified and will follow up on additional violations discovered at the property.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT), Oregon State Police (OSP), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC). The investigation was made possible through funding from the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission’s Illegal Marijuana Market Grant (IMMEG), which was established in 2018 to aid law enforcement in combatting the illegal marijuana trade.

The Eugene Springfield Fire Department was also on-site to ensure the safety of investigators and to

assess the hazardous materials present.

Authorities have not yet released details on potential arrests or charges as the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4141 and reference case #25-0708.
