Eugene Man Arrested After Violent Assault with Pool Cue, Pellet Gun
EUGENE, OR – A Eugene man was arrested after a bizarre and violent assault involving a pool cue, wire, and a pellet gun at a residence on Bailey Hill Road early Monday morning.
Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident around 7 a.m. on March 18, detaining two men at the scene. Investigators determined that 64-year-old Kerry Marnell Carsh struck another male resident with a pool cue and attempted to tie him up with wire. When the victim resisted, Carsh shot him multiple times with a pellet gun, causing significant injuries. The victim fought back, using a knife to cut Carsh before managing to disarm him and escape.
Carsh was hospitalized for his injuries before being booked into the Lane County Jail on March 19. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, menacing, coercion, unlawful use of a weapon, and felony meth possession.
