Springfield Man Arrested for Assault, Gun Threat in Cottage Grove





COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — A Springfield man was arrested Friday night after allegedly assaulting another man and threatening him with a firearm, according to Cottage Grove Police.

Officers responded around 9:20 p.m. on March 28 to reports of a fight involving a gun at a residence on Cottage Heights Loop. Upon investigation, police determined that 45-year-old Scott Alan Johnson had assaulted an adult male and menaced him with a pistol.

Johnson was taken into custody near the scene and booked into the Lane County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, menacing, unlawful use of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
