Driver Arrested for DUII After Crashing into Power Pole in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. — A 37-year-old was arrested early Wednesday morning after crashing a Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck into a city power pole at Green Acres Road and Delta Oaks Drive, police said. The incident occurred at 6:36 a.m. on June 25, 2025, when callers reported the truck wedged between a pole and a large bush, approximately 30 feet from a residence.

Eugene Police responded and assisted the driver, identified as Mitchell Allen Gould, out of the vehicle through the front passenger door. Suspecting impairment, officers continued their investigation after Gould was evaluated by medics. A search revealed cocaine in Gould’s possession, prompting assistance from a Springfield Police Drug Recognition Expert.

Gould was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), Reckless Driving, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Driving Uninsured, and Driving While Suspended. He was released in lieu of custody. The case number is 25-10037.
