Juvenile Suspect Arrested Firearm Recovered in River Road Shots Fired Disturbance



EUGENE, Ore. — On May 29, 2025, at 11:39 a.m., Eugene Police responded to a disturbance involving a group of juveniles at Hawaiian Time restaurant on 2080 River Road. Witnesses reported that one juvenile was armed with a firearm and fired shots into the air, prompting a swift response from multiple police units.

Nearby North Eugene High School was notified and advised to implement security measures as a precaution while police searched for suspects. Several juveniles were contacted during the ongoing investigation.

Update: Eugene Police Investigations detectives, with assistance from Salem Police, located the juvenile suspected of possessing a firearm during the incident. The juvenile was taken into custody safely and without incident at a residence in Salem. A firearm was recovered following the arrest. The juvenile will be lodged at Serbu Juvenile Justice Center on charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Disorderly Conduct.
