Fort Bragg Man Pleads Guilty to Criminally Negligent Homicide in Fatal 2023 Crash

Eugene, OR – Ravi Artemus Polini, now 26, of Fort Bragg, California, pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide on June 30, 2025, for a fatal two-vehicle crash on June 24, 2023, on Hwy 101 near milepost 186 in Lane County, according to court records. Polini was originally charged with Manslaughter in the Second Degree.
Polini was sentenced to 36 months (3 years) in prison, followed by 36 months of post-prison supervision, and is eligible for good time credits and early release. The charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) was dismissed.
The Oregon State Police reported that Polini, then 24, was driving a black Ford F-250 northbound near Sutton Lake Rd when it veered out of its lane, crossed a turn lane, and left the roadway. The truck then crossed Sutton Lake Rd and struck a blue Chevy Bolt, driven by Logan Jacob Scott, 31, of Florence, who was stopped at a stop sign. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oregon Department of Transportation assisted OSP in the investigation.
