Eugene Man Arrested After Armed Neighbor Dispute
On July 15 at 9:41 p.m., Eugene Police responded to a dispute in the 2800 block of Cheshire Avenue. While en route, officers learned 47-year-old Simon Eduardo Manso was swinging a bar at neighbors, and one neighbor had armed himself with a handgun. Gunshots were reported as officers arrived.
Police discovered Manso had fled in a vehicle after an escalating neighbor dispute. He allegedly assaulted the landlord, attempted to run over the landlord and neighbors with his car after being threatened, and then left the scene.
Officers stopped Manso on River Road near Irving when he pulled into a gas station. He exited his vehicle, was uncooperative, briefly stripped naked, but was taken into custody without further incident.
Manso was lodged at Lane County Jail on charges including three counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Harassment, three counts of Menacing, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Disorderly Conduct, and three counts of Reckless Endangering.
Officers investigated the report of shots being heard near the dispute but were unable to corroborate the claim and found no evidence to support it. Case 25-11274
