Fugitive Wanted for Murder Arrested in Eugene



EUGENE, Ore. — On July 9, 2025, Eugene Police arrested 34-year-old Isiah Terrell Taylor, a fugitive wanted by the Milwaukee Police Department in Wisconsin for felony murder, aggravated battery, and burglary. Taylor, believed to have fled to Eugene to evade capture, was apprehended near W 18th Avenue and Lincoln Street following a coordinated effort by the Eugene Police Department.

The charges stem from an incident on April 25, 2025, at Plymouth Apartments, a retirement community near 9th and Galena in Milwaukee. Around 12:10 a.m., a 70-year-old man was beaten and died at the scene. According to the criminal complaint, the preliminary cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, with the manner of death ruled a homicide.

Eugene Police’s Special Investigations Unit began tracking Taylor after receiving notice on June 24, 2025, that he was wanted in Wisconsin. Detectives entered a vehicle associated with Taylor into the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system, which led to his location. The SWAT team, supported by the drone team, patrol officers, and detectives, conducted a vehicle stop and took Taylor into custody without incident.

Authorities are seeking information about Taylor’s activities in Eugene over the past two weeks. Anyone with details is asked to contact Detective Rick Lowe at 541-682-5573.

Man Arrested for Abuse of Corpse After Woman’s Body Found in Cottage Grove

COTTAGE GROVE, OR – Authorities have arrested a man in connection with the discovery of a deceased woman found on the sidewalk in front of 711 Highway 99 in Cottage Grove. The body was discovered at approximately 3:50 a.m. on March 28, 2025, prompting an immediate response from Cottage Grove Police. Upon arrival, officers determined the woman was deceased. Initially, her identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin. Based on information gathered independently, it was determined that the deceased had been staying at a local motel before her body was moved. Mark Michael Detering , (possibly related in some form) was arrested yesterday for allegedly removing her body from the motel after her death and abandoning it on the sidewalk where it was later discovered.
