One Dead, One Critical in Springfield Mobile Home Fire



SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A devastating fire at a mobile home near 53rd Street and Main Street claimed one life and left another person in critical condition on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, according to Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF). Firefighters arrived at the scene just 4 minutes and 20 seconds after dispatch to find the mobile home engulfed in flames.
Due to the severity of the blaze, a second alarm was called to bring additional resources. One occupant was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. No firefighters were injured during the response.
The ESF Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire, which remains undetermined. Further details have not been released as the investigation continues.
