Eugene Man Arrested in String of Business Burglaries
EUGENE, Ore. — A six-month investigation by the Eugene Police Department culminated in the arrest of 55-year-old Raymond Joseph Janczyk on April 23, 2025, for a series of business and food cart burglaries across the city.
The probe, initiated in September 2024 by the Property Crimes Unit, linked Janczyk to multiple incidents through evidence collection, image comparisons, and assistance from EPD patrol and K9 units.
Janczyk was apprehended at a West Eugene residence and booked into Lane County Jail on outstanding warrants for second-degree theft and parole violation, as well as charges of menacing and fourth-degree assault. He now faces nine counts each of second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, plus charges of first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass, and attempted second-degree burglary. Additional charges are under review.
The cases, spanning from September 2024 to April 2025, include 12 reported incidents. Police continue to evaluate further charges against Janczyk.
