Rollover Crash on Highway 58 Involves Oakridge Fire & EMS Medic Unit



Oakridge, OR — A rollover crash on Highway 58 near milepost 30 involved an Oakridge Fire & EMS medic unit shortly before 2:00 PM on May 17, 2025. The unit was returning from a patient transport when the accident occurred, with three responders inside the vehicle.

Mutual aid crews from Lowell Rural Fire Protection District, Dexter Rural Fire Protection District, and Upper McKenzie Rural Fire Protection District responded quickly, successfully extricating all occupants. Medics from Eugene Springfield Fire provided immediate transport for the injured personnel. One responder is in critical but stable condition, while the other two sustained minor injuries and were transported for further evaluation. No patients were in the ambulance at the time of the incident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Eugene Springfield Fire will provide ambulance coverage for Oakridge as recovery efforts continue. Oakridge Fire & EMS, a small, primarily volunteer department with only three paid staff, expressed gratitude for community support during this challenging time.
