Stolen Firearms Scheme May Have Left Buyers Holding Stolen Firearms
EUGENE, Ore. — A Lane County Sheriff’s Office investigation, triggered by a stolen firearm report on March 26, 2025, led to the arrest of 54-year-old Eugene resident Jeffrey Allen Bragg on April 17. Bragg was charged with Theft in the First Degree and booked into Lane County Jail.
What started as a single theft case grew into evidence that Bragg had allegedly been stealing firearms and reselling them for years, often suspectedly deceiving buyers into believing the sales were legitimate. Authorities warn that many who purchased firearms from Bragg may unknowingly possess stolen weapons.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who bought a firearm from Bragg to contact them at 541-682-4141, referencing case #25-1802, to verify their purchase and assist in the investigation.
