Eugene Police Arrest Man for Riot in Connection to April 26 Unruly Party

EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police have arrested 18-year-old Ashby Wendell Ziemer in connection to a chaotic party on April 26 at E. 14th Avenue and Patterson Street. Ziemer was booked into Lane County Jail on May 6, 2025, facing charges of Riot and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree. Authorities expect additional arrests as the investigation, aided by video evidence, continues.

The incident began around 11:30 a.m. (yes, a.m. according to EPD call logs) when police received reports of a loud, disruptive gathering that escalated into riotous behavior. Callers described “thousands” of people blocking traffic, damaging vehicles, and littering the streets with glass and trash.

The crowd prevented Eugene Springfield Fire from responding to an emergency and engaged in public drinking, including a viral “B.O.R.G.” (Black Out Rage Gallon) trend involving large containers of alcohol, water, and electrolytes. Some attendees climbed a building at 550 E. 14th Avenue, while others were reported urinating publicly on buildings and vehicles.

Eugene Police deployed drones and issued dispersal orders, but some partygoers threw beer cans and bottles at police vehicles. The Mobile Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were activated to manage the situation. Seven individuals, aged 21 to 23, were cited on-site for offenses including Unruly Gathering and Open Container violations. No officers were injured during the response. Case 25-06689
