Head-On Crash Near Shasta Middle School Injures Three, No Bethel Students Harmed

EUGENE, Ore. — A two-vehicle head-on crash occurred at approximately 8:45 AM today at Barger Road and Primrose Street, just west of Shasta Middle School’s entrance, according to the Eugene Police Department. The collision involved an Audi S3, driven by a 35-year-old man with four child passengers, and a Ford F-150, driven by a 61-year-old man.

Police report the Audi was traveling westbound on Barger Drive when it nearly struck a crosswalk guard and school children in a crosswalk before colliding head-on with the Ford F-150, which was stopped in eastbound traffic. Authorities indicate the Audi’s driver may have suffered a medical incident prior to the crash, with no evidence of alcohol impairment.

Two children and one adult male associated with the Audi were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No Bethel students, including a Shasta student and staff member present at the crosswalk, were harmed.

Shasta Middle School staff responded swiftly to support students and families. The school underscores that student safety is their top priority and values community partnership in maintaining a safe environment.
