Jeffrey Voss Faces Court for Probation Violations in Oregon

EUGENE, ORJeffrey Alan Voss, a 31-year-old man on supervised release, is facing legal consequences after violating multiple conditions of his probation, as detailed in court documents filed in the United States District Court for the District of Oregon.

Voss, originally sentenced on April 9, 2025, to five years of probation for interstate threatening communication, breached several terms of his supervised release. On April 14, 2025, Voss accessed the internet without permission at a public library, violating Special Condition #15, which prohibits internet use without prior approval from his probation officer.

The following day, April 15, a female contact reported to the probation officer that Voss had reached out to her, via Facebook under the username “Jeff JV,” sending explicit images and a nude video of himself. Voss admitted to the officer that he accessed the internet without approval, sent sexually explicit material via Facebook to not just the one female, but also to three other females, confirming the violations.

Additionally, Voss failed to comply with Standard Condition #4 by not answering his probation officer truthfully about his internet use and Facebook activity. He also violated Special Condition #4 by missing a required urinalysis test on April 10, 2025. On April 11, 2025, the U.S. Probation Office learned that Voss had contacted the FBI, demanding the return of firearms he was not permitted to possess, further escalating concerns about his compliance.

Voss’s attitude toward these violations has raised alarms. During an office visit on April 10, 2025, he reportedly told his probation officer that he does not believe he needs to be on probation and has expressed frustration over the firearm restrictions, even involving the FBI. His probation officer noted that Voss’s actions, including sending explicit content to a stranger, pose a risk to the community, and his repeated violations suggest a disregard for the terms of his supervised release.

In response, the court has taken action. On April 17, 2025, a summons was issued for Voss to appear in court on April 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wayne L. Morse U.S. Courthouse in Eugene, Oregon. On April 21, Voss signed a waiver agreeing to forgo his right to a preliminary hearing. That same day, he was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and is currently in custody at Douglas County Jail, as confirmed by booking records. Amy Potter was appointed as his CJA Panel Attorney on April 18, 2025, to represent him in these proceedings.

The court will determine the next steps in addressing Voss’s supervised release violations, which could potentially lead to stricter penalties or revocation of his probation.
