Oregon Man Sentenced to Just Over Four Years for Attempted Sex Abuse.
EUGENE, Ore. — Kordel Michael Jacobson-Franzoni was transferred today to Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, Oregon, for intake following his recent conviction on felony charges.
Jacobson-Franzoni, who was arrested on August 17, 2024, by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, was found guilty of two counts of Attempt to Commit a Crime – 2, with the underlying offense being Sex Abuse in the First Degree, both classified as felonies.
Court records indicate that Jacobson-Franzoni’s sentencing includes two sentencing terms, with the first ending on November 2, 2026, and the second on November 2, 2029. This results in a total sentence of just over four and one half years. Following his intake at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility, a medium-security prison that serves as the state’s intake center, he will be transferred to an all-male Oregon prison to serve the remainder of his sentence.
The charges stem from incidents that led to his arrest last year, with the court assigning a bond amount of $0 for each charge, indicating he was held without bail. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office, which made the arrest, listed the violations under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 161.405, corresponding to the attempt to commit a crime, with the specific crime of first-degree sex abuse outlined in the charges.
Jacobson-Franzoni’s case also included additional charges such as interfering with a police officer and resisting arrest, which were cleared, and a misdemeanor charge of sex abuse in the first degree, which was also cleared. The Department of Corrections has noted that his transfer to an all-male facility will follow standard intake procedures at Coffee Creek, ensuring appropriate placement within the Oregon prison system.
Further details regarding the specifics of the case remain limited, as court documents did not provide additional context about the incidents leading to the charges. Jacobson-Franzoni’s sentencing marks the conclusion of a legal process that began with his arrest in August 2024, and he will now begin serving his nearly four-year sentence for the felony convictions.
These crimes at not measure 11, and as such Jaconbson-Franzoni may be eligible for "good time", and early release.
